About Ann Taylor:
Ann Taylor is an award-winning Verona watercolorist who finds challenge in interpreting a wide variety of subjects, frequently utilizing water as a compositional element. Her love of color and light is evident in most of her paintings.
Mrs. Taylor began studying watercolors when she was fifteen. A graduate of the High School of Industrial Arts in Manhattan, she has a B.A. in Fine and Applied Arts from Brooklyn College. Further studies include courses at The School of Visual Arts, the New School for Social Research and the Yard School of Art in Montclair, NJ.
She is a signature member of the New Jersey Watercolor Society, The Garden State Watercolor Society and an exhibiting member of the Essex Water Color Club. Ann is also a signature member of the Pastel Society of New Jersey and a member of the Allied Artists of America, the North East Watercolor Society, the Clifton Assn. of Artists, the Art Centre of New Jersey, the West Essex Art Assn. and the Millburn/Short Hills Art Center. Ann recently completed a two-year term as President of the New Jersey Watercolor Society and is a Past-president of the Essex Water Color Club.
Ann Taylor’s work:
Mrs. Taylor has had seven solo shows and participated in select juried exhibitions at the, Morris, Monmouth, Noyes and Ellerslie Museums. Her paintings are included in many private American and international collections. Presently, Ann Taylor teaches watercolor classes in Caldwell and is on the staff of the Livingston Arts Association. She also has conducted watercolor workshops sponsored by the Road Scholar (Elderhostel ) program. She has been teaching watercolor painting for over 20 years.
Mrs. Taylor has won more than 75 awards. Among the more recent are: (Major Awards) First Place, Art Centre of New Jersey, Spring 2010; First Place, Clifton Arts Association, Spring 2010; Second Place, Park Avenue Club, Annual Open Show, 2008; (Awards of Excellence) Essex Watercolor Club Member Shows, April 2009, December 2005, Fall 2004; Lettie Steinhart Award for Best Watercolor, West Essex Art Assn, Open Juried Exhibit, January 2007; Best in Show, Milburn-Short Hills Art Center, Juried Art Exhibition, Fall 2006; The Garden State Watercolor Society Award, Open Juried Show, Fall 2006; The New Jersey Herald Award, Skylands Open Juried Art Show, Summer, 2006; Best in Show, West Essex Art Association, Member Exhibition, Fall 2004; Best Watermedia Painting, Community Arts Assoc, National Open Juried Show, March 2002; Best in Show, West Essex Art Association, Open Juried Show, January 2000; plus a host of Awards of Excellence and Merit.
