About Doris Davis-Glackin:
“I delight in creating watercolors from the myriad shapes and diverse forms in the world around me. I especially like to study and recreate the way light and shadows enhance these natural forms. I hope to evoke an emotional response to my work, rather than an analytical appraisal of the image. There is no greater compliment for my work than to have someone choose to hang it in their home and receive great pleasure from it.”
After earning her degrees at the University of Delaware and Villanova University, Doris worked as a teacher. She then spent four years living and traveling in Europe. While there she studied the works of the great masters in the museums and collections of the world.
In 1992, she pursued her true passion and began painting full time.

She is inspired by the rich history there. “The area is so beautiful to paint. We have the Brandywine River, old buildings, barns, and mills, and wonderful gardens and arboretums. The change of seasons enables me to capture all of the above at various times of the year with different light and color.”
